March 27′th – Gallery 18

Today I want to talk about the past few Gallery Eighteen photos I’ve uploaded.
The first one features Ellen Hummel and Devon Carbone.
This photo was taken on the same day the Felicity Gallery was created. We took the photos for Felicity first at the Palace of Fine Arts, and then we headed over to Ocean Beach to take the final photo for the gallery. After we achieved that shot, we decided to take a few more photos that were unrelated to that gallery.
I’m always searching for new angles to use for ballet shots. It can be difficult because ballet is generally meant to be viewed on a stage, so switching up the angles can be tricky, but I love the angle of this photo.
This next shot features Kristina Lind.
We took this photo on Fillmore Street in San Francisco. Kristi is great to work with, she’s really creative at coming up with poses and is generally up for anything. Including laying down on a sidewalk in just a leotard.
And as Eva said on Facebook, Kristi looks ripped in this photo.
This next photo stars Caitlin McAvoy.
I like that the signs in this photo say Folsom & Embarcadero, it gives it a local SF feeling. And I think Caitlin’s pose is interesting. Theres a lot more photos of Caitlin to come.
This next photo features Aaron Renteria.
Isn’t Aaron’s line and flexibility amazing? Not to mention his great leg shape and amazing feet. He’s very talented.
Thats San Francisco City Hall in the background by the way.
This next shot is another one featuring Ellen Hummel.
If you’ve followed Ballet Zaida for a while, your probably familiar with Ellen Hummel. She’s been in a lot of the galleries. She’s always photogenic, and is a pleasure to work with.
Ellen’s expressions are always very deep and full of emotion, and this photo is no exception. I’m left wondering what she could be thinking, even after I stop looking at the photo.
The second to last photo we’re going to look at stars Brandon Binkly and Caitlin McAvoy.
The wind blowing Caitlin’s skirt in the matching direction she’s leaning is awesome. And both Brandon and Caitlin have great presence in this photo.
Also, Caitlin and Brandon’s arm lines here are very nice, and I love the way Caitlin’s pointe shoes look.
The last photo we’ll see in today’s blog post, features Elizabeth Powell.
Lizzy is loaded with charisma. You can tell even in this photo that was taken at a distance, she’s radiates it.
Compositionally, what I like about this photo is how Lizzy is framed in-between the heart structure. I think its cool we took a piece of art that was in SF, and made more art out of it.
I’m always striving to make Ballet Zaida better and better. I hope your enjoying Gallery 18 as much as I am.
